Initialization
When you receive your Android scanner with VeriScan, it has already been tested to ensure the functionality of your device. It should already have a licensed version of VeriScan for Android based on your order.
To get set up with VeriScan
- Unlock the device by swiping up on the lock screen
- Press the Apps button (circle with dots)
- Open the VeriScan mobile app in the app drawer
- Hold the device so the sensor at the top is pointing at the barcode of the ID you wish to scan
- Press the scan button and line up the red laser with the barcode until the device beeps
- On IDW9000 and Unitech devices, the scan button is blue
- On Panasonic FZ-N1 Devices, the scan button is orange
- Your scanned information should appear on screen
History
Accessing History
You can access History by clicking on the word "HISTORY" on the top bar of the VeriScan mobile app. Here you will find a searchable list of all the IDs you have scanned. You can access individual profiles by clicking on an individual's name.
To search, click the magnifying glass, then select which category you wish to search by. Then select the text bar and begin typing your search parameter.
As you type, different options will appear that match the information you have typed in. When you find the person you wish to select, tap on their name and to access their individual profile inside your device's history.
Profiles
Automatic Data
Once you have selected a person in your history, a profile page will appear like the one pictured here. On this page, you can see many different data fields that have been read by the scanner, including the following:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Group
- Sex
- ID#
- Expiration Date
- Date of Birth
- Age
- Address
- City
- Zip Code
- State
Manual Data
You can also click the pencil icon next to the Contacts Field to manually enter in other data such as phone number and email address. You can also add comments to the profile to keep track of all other forms of data that do not have their own data fields.Be sure to click ✔ Accept to save manually entered information and comments, or click X Decline to cancel and discard the information.
Groups
Assigning a group
Once you have accessed a person's profile page via History, click the large button that says "Group" at the top center of the screen.
From here, you can set it to a default group (VIP or Banned) or any group you have created by tapping the group name
Creating a New Group
To create a new group, tap the new group icon from the "Select Group" menu. From here you can enter the group name.Editing an Existing Group
To edit an existing group, tap the pencil icon from the "Select Group" menu.
From here you can change the name of an existing group by clicking the pencil icon next to the group you wish to edit.
You can also delete a group by clicking the trash icon next to the group you wish to delete.
Note that deleting a group does not delete the scan history of members of that group, it will simply assign them to the "none" group and leave your scan history intact.
Settings
Enable History
Enable or disable the history. Disabling this option will show the profile information from each scan but will discard it once another ID has been scanned.Alert Enable
Enable the multi scan alert. Will show an alert if an ID has been scanned more than once in the selected timeout window.Alert Timeout
A slider to set the amount of time between scans that must pass before an alert is triggered, ranging from 0 hours to 50 hours.
