Add On Tap2iD Service
VeriScan Premium, Enterprise, or ID Authentication is required to add on the Tap2iD service. It is not compatible with VeriScan Basic. If you have not already, create your VeriScan account.
Contact your account manager to add on the Tap2iD service.
Install VeriScan with Tap2iD Extension
When you install VeriScan, you will need to go to the Components tab and select Credence Tap2iD from the list of available components. Please note that the Tap2iD scanner must be connected to the computer via USB in order for the extension to install correctly.
If you have already installed VeriScan without your Tap2iD scanner connected, you can open the Cloud Installer and choose Modify from the installation options to add the extension later.
Connect Your Tap2iD Scanner to Wi-Fi
After VeriScan for Windows has been installed with the Tap2iD extension, and your Tap2iD scanner is connected, navigate here to connect your scanner to Wi-Fi.
Once connected, click Save and your Wi-Fi settings will be transferred to your Tap2iD scanner via USB. After the device is connected to Wi-Fi, the IDScan.net logo should appear on the Tap2iD screen, and the VeriScan custom profile will be transmitted to the device via Wi-Fi. You might see a notification that trust settings have been updated. Once this is done, you're ready to get started scanning in VeriScan.
Add your Device to VeriScan and Start Scanning
In VeriScan, open Settings > Devices and click +Add. Select Scanner Credence ID Tap2iD from the list, then you are ready to start scanning!
When someone presents their ID in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet they will need to hover their phone right next to the Tap2iD scanner, which establishes a Bluetooth connection via NFC. The presenting party can then allow their ID information to be sent, and you will see the results in VeriScan.
When someone presents a different app with a QR code, you can use the laser scanner on the Tap2iD app and scan the QR code, which will establish the Bluetooth connection between the Tap2iD scanner and the presenting party's phone. They can then allow their ID information to be sent, and you will see the results in VeriScan.
