What time zone is represented in VeriScan's History entries?

History entries reflect the local time zone settings of the specific device (iOS, Android, or Windows) used to perform the scan.

Overview

When reviewing your scan history across the VeriScan ecosystem, you may notice varying time stamps if your organization operates across multiple regions. To provide the most accurate local context for each event, VeriScan records data based on the local system time of the hardware at the moment of the scan.

How it Works

The application captures the date and time stamp by communicating directly with your device's operating system:

  • iOS & Android: The app queries the mobile device for the current time and time zone configured in your system settings.

  • Windows: The software pulls the time stamp directly from the local Windows system clock.

Example Scenario

If your organization operates in both New York (EST) and California (PST):

  • A scan performed on an iPad in California at 9:00 AM will be logged as 9:00 AM.

  • A scan performed on a Windows tablet in New York at 9:00 AM will be logged as 9:00 AM.

Note: To ensure reporting consistency, we recommend enabling "Set Automatically" in the Date & Time settings of all devices running VeriScan.
