How to troubleshoot the embedded scanner in the VeriScan app for Falcon tablets.

Ensure the embedded scanner is enabled.
Tap the three-line button to open the app menu.
Tap on the Settings tab with the gear icon to open settings.
Tap on the Embedded checkbox to enable the embedded scanner.
If prompted, press Allow to give permission to VeriScan to take pictures and record video.
The built-in scanner is considered a camera by the Android OS, so the Camera permission is required to use the built-in scanner on Falcon tablets.
The checkbox should turn blue, and the Embedded setting should say Started when the embedded scanner has been successfully activated by VeriScan.
Head back to the Scan screen to start scanning.
Ensure VeriScan has the correct permissions.
From the Apps Drawer, long press the VeriScan icon and select App Info.
In the App Info screen, tap on the Permissions menu.
Here, you'll be able to see which permissions are allowed in the VeriScan app.
Each permission is tied to a feature: Enabling each permission is required to use it's associated feature. The VeriScan app does not collect or use permission-controlled data except where described below.
Camera Permission
Recommended state: Allow
- Allow this permission to use the embedded laser scanner to scan an ID.
- Allow this permission to use the camera to scan an ID.
- Allow this permission to use the camera to add an image to a visit.

Location Permission
Recommended state: Allow only when using the app
- Allow this permission to tag each visit with location specific data in the portal.
- Allow this permission to more accurately timestamp visits when using devices across multiple time zones.
Storage Permission
Recommended state: Allow
- Allow this permission to attach images on the SD card to a visit.
