How do I separate the address field into individual lines?

Converting profiles, csv, and xml outputs to the new address format using full address, line 1, and line 2.

Introduction

Starting with ParseLink 2.8, there will no longer be an "Address" field.

Previous installations will automatically convert "Address" to "Full Address" in the menu. Additionally, there will be 2 new fields for "Address Line 1" and "Address Line 2" for more easy access to each individual field.

We advise customers using the address field to double check their profiles and settings to ensure ParseLink is configured to their exact needs.

Profile Editor

Open the profile editor by going to the Right Click Menu > Profile Editor and open each of your profiles that uses the "Address" input.

You may notice in the ParseLink profile editor that your Target Keystroke Sequence that one of your INPUTs is labeled "Full Address."

Full Address

This will input both Address Line 1 and Address Line 2 with no separator in one field.

This is ideal for when the Address text box on the field you're trying to input is a free Text Area.

Address Line 1 and Address Line 2

This will input both Address Line 1 and Address Line 2 with no separator in one field.

This is ideal for when the Address text box on the field you're trying to input is 2 Text Boxes.

CSV and XML Export

Open the CSV or XML Template editor by going to the Right Click Menu > Write Data into CSV / XML Log > Format > Custom to edit your scan logging template.

Check your template file for any header with "Address"

Full Address

"Address" should be converted to "Full Address"

This will create a column with Address Line 1 and Address Line 2 with no separator.

This is ideal for when the full address cannot be separated.

Address Line 1 and Address Line 2

"Address" should be converted to "Address Line 1" and/or "Address Line 2"

This will create separate columns for Address Line 1 and Address Line 2.

This is ideal for when the address must be separated, or to limit issues with Address Line 2 in some importers.

If you are having issues where full address contains a comma, switching "Full Address" to "Address Line 1" may fix the issue.
