COM port scanners are somewhat limited so there isn't much to configure here. We recommend selecting your device form the dropdown menu and only use "Configure Port" if directed by your IT team.
Verification
Verification is used to verify the legitimacy of the ID you're being presented. You can use Authentication, Third Party Checks, and Age Verification to control which popups appear when an ID is scanned.

Authentication SDK
Use the Authentication SDK menu to enable the Authentication Engine (only available for ParseLink Enterprise). You can configure whether a "Passed" popup is shown, stop the workflow if an ID fails (no output, no images, no log), and configure how the Authentication details are displayed.
Learn more about the Authentication SDK. ⮺
Third Party Checks
Enter your third-party checks authorization token here to enable screening services while an ID is being scanned. Use DMV Checks to ensure the information on the ID matches the DMV records. Use IdentiFraud to validate the identify of a visitor using publicly available databases for KYC purposes.
You can configure the checks to run automatically after every scan or get a prompt.

Set Valid Age | Verify Valid Age
Click Set Valid Age to set the minimum age a visitor can be without the ID showing an Underage popup message.

Enable conditional logic for saving images based on scan status.
- Use checkboxes in the selection menu to only save images when an ID is passed, failed, expired, underage, or unrecognized.
- If the checkbox is disabled for a particular status, images will not be saved when an ID has that status.

Save Face image to...
Click Save Face Image To... to select where face images are saved.
Capture Signature
Enable this to automatically crop the signature image form the ID photo and save it as a separate file. This is useful to capture the signature form the DMV and compare it to another signature.
Save Signature image to...
Click Save Signature Image To... to select where signature images are saved.
History Logging
Save a CSV or XML file with scan information to your local disk or a network drive. You can save any information found in the barcode as well as the scan time and the Authentication result. These files are useful for remembering past visitors or uploading the files into another system via an import tool.
Enable the checkbox on History Logging to enable saving history logs. Disabling the checkbox will prevent a file from being saved regardless of settings in other menus. Disabling this checkbox will also disable all child settings.

Save history log when an ID is
Conditional logic for saving a history log based on scan status.
- Use checkboxes in the selection menu to only save a history log when an ID is passed, failed, expired, or underage.
- If the checkbox is disabled for a particular status, a history log will not be saved when an ID has that status.

Format
Use either the default format or a custom format for the saved CSV file. When using a custom format, you can select which column headers to use and also specify a unique delimiter not specified in the menu below.
Select column delimiter
When using CSV, select which character separates each field. You can select a comma or TAB.
File format
Select between CSV, XML, or TXT as the file format for the history log.
Keyboard Emulation
Here you can configure your profiles - lists of commands ParseLink will follow when an ID is scanned. ParseLink can use the Windows Keyboard Emulator API to automatically type out ID information to fill out any forms or fields in your existing system. You can use the same profile each time, select a profile after each scan, or automatically pick a profile based on the name of the current active window.
Enable the checkbox on Keyboard Emulation to enable running profiles. Disabling the checkbox will prevent any profile from being run regardless of settings in other menus. Disabling this checkbox will also disable all child settings.

Run profile when an ID is

- Use checkboxes in the selection menu to only run a profile when an ID is passed, failed, expired, or underage.
- If the checkbox is disabled for a particular status, a profile will not run when an ID has that status.
Profile Editor
Clicking opens the active profile editor, which will show you the list of all keystroke commands ParseLink is currently configured to run. You can use Profile Editor to create, edit, and delete profiles.
Learn more about the profile editor. ⮺
Active Profile
Use this selector to set the default profile to run when an ID is scanned. ParseLink will remember to use this profile every time an ID is scanned.
Select Profile for every scan
Enable Select Profile for Every Scan to show a popup window every time an ID is scanned which lists out all the profiles you have saved on your device. Clicking one of the profiles in this list will close the popup and run that particular profile.
This is useful for when you have multiple different pages, forms, or fields to fill out and you want to quickly switch between those workflows.
Profile Auto Mapping
Enable Profile Auto Mapping to configure automatic mapping of ParseLink profiles based on the name of the active window. If the name of the active window matches the name in the list, the selected profile will run. If the name of the active window is not found in the list, ParseLink will run the default profile instead.
This is useful for when you have multiple different pages to fill out and you want ParseLink to automatically select which workflow to run based on the name of the active window.
Learn more about auto-mapping. ⮺
Output Mode
Choose from a few different output modes for running a profile based on your system. Depending on your setup, you might find different performance and stability based on the output mode.
