How can I select what types of IDs my business will accept?
VeriScan Cloud lets you limit accepted ID types, trigger pop-up alerts for unacceptable IDs, and customize alert text and history settings.
Compatible with VeriScan for Android v3.8.2, VeriScan for iOS v6.27, and VeriScan for Windows v3.24.
By default, VeriScan is designed to accept any type of government-issued ID that can be read.
However, your business may have a need to accept only a subset of IDs, and VeriScan can now accommodate that need.
Enabling the Unacceptable ID Type Alert
In the VeriScan Cloud portal, you can choose how VeriScan handles Unacceptable ID Types:
- Enable Check - toggle this to ON if you want VeriScan to accept a subset of ID types.
- Show Pop-Up - toggle this to ON if, when an unacceptable ID type is scanned, you want a progress-stopping pop-up that must be acknowledged before scanning another ID.
Enable the Show Pop-up toggle if you want an alert pop-up to appear when an unacceptable ID is scanned. If this is not enabled, a system alert will be shown instead.
- More settings - this allows you to specify exactly which types of IDs you wish to accept from your visitors. You can further choose what happens when an unacceptable ID type is scanned by customizing the alert text that appears, and choosing whether a history record is made.
To have VeriScan create a history record, select the option 'Display scan results, create a history record, and attach the Unacceptable ID Type alert'.
If you don't want VeriScan to perform its checks and create a history record, select the option 'Do not display scan results, and do not create a history record'.
FAQs
Can I have different alert messages for different ID types?
- No - at this time, you will need to choose a universal alert message to show when any unacceptable ID type is scanned.
How can I use this feature if I need to admit only those with REAL ID compliant identification?
- Uncheck the boxes for US state-issued driver's licenses and ID cards, and keep the REAL ID state-issued driver's licenses and ID cards checked.
