Why can't I see History in my VeriScan app?

IDScan.net is automatically updating VeriScan device passwords as a security update. Devices not on the latest app version can still scan but cannot view History until the password is updated.

As part of a security update, IDScan.net is automatically updating the device passwords that license your VeriScan apps. If your devices are running the latest version of VeriScan, this happens in the background, and you do not need to do anything.

Make sure your devices are on the latest version

  • VeriScan for Windows: 3.31.1.76 or later
  • VeriScan for iOS: 7.7 or later
  • VeriScan for Android: 3.16.3 or later

If your device is on the latest version

The next time the app connects to our server, the device password updates automatically. Scanning is not interrupted and there is nothing to re-enter.

If your device is not on the latest version

Scanning keeps working normally, but the device cannot view scan history until its device password is updated. If you do not open History, you will not see any message at all.

If you open History, you will see one of the following:

  • VeriScan for Windows: "Only scanning is allowed. Please update to the latest version of VeriScan for Windows in order to view history."
  • VeriScan for iOS: "No results"
  • VeriScan for Android: "Service is not available at the moment. Please, check your internet connection and try again."

The Recent Visitors list at the bottom of the main VeriScan window is also unavailable. Only the scans made during your current session are visible until the device password is updated.

How to restore access to History

You have two options. Update the app to the latest version and the password will update automatically the next time the app connects to our server. Or change the device password manually in VeriScan Cloud under Access Management > Devices > Edit Device.

If you use the same device login on more than one device

The automatic update only works for the first device that connects using that device login. Any other device sharing that login will need the new password entered by hand:

  1. Sign in to VeriScan Cloud and go to Access Management > Devices.
  2. Click Edit Device for that device login.
  3. Click the copy button to copy the password to your clipboard.
  4. Paste it somewhere you can get it to the other device, such as an email, a text message, or a note, then enter it in the app on that device.

Each device should have its own device login. If you are currently using one device login across VeriScan for Windows plus another PC or mobile device, contact support and we will help you set up the separate device logins you need.
